I'm so glad they recorded this concert. Miles of Aisles was a great summation of the first part of Joni's career, including a hint of the new direction to come. This concert encapsulates the experimental jazz fusion stage, which, to my thinking, was just excellent (maybe not Don Juan so much).

I'm a sucker for anything that puts Mitchell and Pastorius in the same place. Fr me, the very best of her oeuvre is the later work that Pastorius was on; the Hejira, Mingus, and Don Juan albums, in addition to Shadows & Light. I know many like to think of her as a folk singer, but she was equally a jazz babe.

I watched this with my dad when this came out on Laser Disc. He passed away this May, and I’ve been watching it almost daily, I miss him. Dave Grusin was his favorite, and mine as well since I was young. Ivan Lins voice and energy is brings me comfort.

Anyone that saw Joni's 1979 tour in person witnessed one of the greatest lineups of musicians ever assembled in history. We're all in awe and we're so jealous of you. At least it was captured on videotape and record for posterity.

I am 69. In 1978 I foud Pat Meheny, I always come back. I feel like i'm walking down a road. Each bend offers a new perspective. It all blends. It is subtle. You take it a step at al time.that is so subtle that you don't know how you got there. And when it is done, you are home again, wondering how you got there. I hope you out live me. Thx Pat.

I saw this concert 1980, San Francisco; already a huge Pat/Lyle/Jaco/Brecker Bros fan, for their own bands, & Joni's quite the jazz player/singer herself! Also have seen pile o concerts; this being top o the heap!❤

here's something different from Dizzy and also amazing... The Hole is a 15-minute animated film by John Hubley and Faith Hubley. Just as a creative piece alone, it is amazing.
